It’s particularly early days, but it looks like Sony’s various global PS5 price promotions are going to do the business this Black Friday.

Sales data from Spain confirms the company sold 41,000 units in the country for the week spanning 17th November through 23rd November.

By comparison, the Switch 2 managed 10,000 units and the Xbox Series X|S just 700 units. Spain has historically been a very strong territory for PlayStation, but that’s still a massive difference.

Now it’s worth pointing out that Sony has reduced the price of the PS5 across Europe by €100, and it’s also had some bundles featuring EA Sports FC 26.

But while this is data from one relatively small market, it shows how aggressive the company is being this holiday. Remember, it’s got deals running pretty much worldwide ahead of the holidays.

The company will be hoping to finally move players off the PS4, and close on that all-important 100 million units milestone. At the last count, accurate as of 30th September, it had sold 84.2 million units.
