Succession is the story of Logan Roy, head of one of the world’s largest media conglomerates, who just announced his imminent retirement. Now his kids, and more than a few others, have to spend four seasons jockeying for position in hopes of becoming the new boss while also earning a little bit of love from daddy.

The Blu-ray edition of Succession displays in 1080p resolution in the show’s original aspect ratio and has DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound.

The series ran for 39 episodes across four seasons from 2018-2023. After you finish watching all 42 hours of the show, you can check out over 20 hours of special features, including interviews with the cast and crew, retrospectives on main characters, production behind-the-behinds videos, and discussions about many episodes by the core cast and crew. Note that many of these featurettes aired on HBO each week as Inside the Episode videos.

Published by Faber & Faber and officially authorized by series creator Jesse Armstrong, the script books for each season are incredibly enjoyable and insightful reads. The first three seasons have 720-plus pages, while Season 4’s scripts total 656 pages.

Succession featured some of the best writing on TV during its run. Conversations within the Roy family often featured wildly creative lines of dialogue–especially when they hurled insults at each other.
