Two of the community’s most trusted organisations, JewishCare and Jewish House, are working together to strengthen disability support and ensure participants continue to receive stable, high-quality services.
From January 12, JewishCare will no longer provide support coordination services.
In preparation for this change, JewishCare is recommending Jewish House as an alternative provider and is collaborating closely with its team to ensure participants and families experience a smooth, well-supported transition.
The collaboration reflects the strong relationship between the two organisations and their shared commitment to the wellbeing of people with disability in the Jewish community.
JewishCare CEO Lawson Broad said the change aligns with JewishCare’s strategic focus on direct, person-centred disability support. “JewishCare has decided to focus our efforts on high-quality, direct support services delivered by our experienced support workers,” he said.
“Jewish House has built an excellent reputation for providing support coordination over the past four years. By working together through this transition, we’re ensuring that participants continue to experience continuity, stability and access to outstanding support.”
Rabbi Mendel Kastel, Jewish House CEO, said the organisation was proud to assist during this period of change.
“Our goal is to ensure that everyone continues to receive compassionate, reliable support,” Rabbi Kastel said.
“This collaboration is about strengthening services across our community, and demonstrating how Jewish organisations can come together to meet people’s needs.”
To ensure continuity, JewishCare’s experienced support coordinators will be transferring to Jewish House, maintaining familiar connections for participants.
The transition will take place gradually and participants will continue to receive ongoing support throughout the process.
Both organisations emphasise that participants retain full choice and control in deciding who provides their support coordination services.
While JewishCare recommends Jewish House as the preferred provider, participants are free to choose any NDIS-registered service that best suits their needs.
Information sessions for participants and families will be held in the coming weeks to explain the changes and provide opportunities for questions and discussion.
