Frostpunk 2 just hit its cheapest price ever, ahead of the city-building game's first DLC

Whenever winter approaches, I always feel the need to dive into Frostpunk 2. Something about the world being blanketed by a permanent frost is both terrifying and enticing, plus it helps me feel warm in the comfort of my home. With the game’s first DLC, Fractured Uptopias, just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to pick up the sequel to one of the best city building games ever made.

Frostpunk 2 expands upon the brutal world that the first introduced. Set 30 years after an apocalyptic blizzard struck Earth, you’ll take charge of New London, one of the remaining settlements, putting the fate of the planet’s remaining citizens in your hands. No pressure, of course.

Many of the first game’s systems return in full form, but you don’t have to have played the original. The sequel helps you get to grips with the mechanics, while also introducing new ones like a citizen council, made up of various factions, that you can appease (or avoid). You can choose to be at the mercy of decisions made by others, or be a pseudo-tyranical leader, but the idea is to survive, thrive, and expand beyond New London’s ever-encroaching walls.

That adds a level of political intrigue to the city-building game, adding a new level of strategy that the original didn’t have. It all adds to a brilliant but sometimes stressful experience; one that Reid McCarter called “a better-rounded, even harsher follow-up to the original’s concept,” in our Frostpunk 2 review.

Fractured Utopias launches next month, bringing a distinct new challenge and more variety to the game’s open-ended Utopia Builder mode. If you’re hoping to wrap your head around being the leader of New London (before going into the expansion, of course), you can grab Frostpunk 2 for just $23.39 / £19.75 at Fanatical. That’s the lowest price the game has ever been, and at a 48% discount, there’s no better time to buy it.

If you’re hoping to grab this deal before it goes, you’ll need to buy your copy before 4pm PST / 7pm EST on Monday, November 17, 2025, or by 12am GMT /1am CEST on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
